Award

On Thursday 18 October, the finalists for the Stars of Babergh and Mid Suffolk awards gathered at St Mary’s Church in Hadleigh for a star-studded event to celebrate their outstanding efforts in the community.

The awards received over 150 entries and the church was packed with businesses and individuals who have all played a vital role in making the districts what they are today.

The Chairman of Lavenham Parish Council Carroll Reeve won the Babergh Special Recognition award.  The organisers' citation reads: "Carroll works tirelessly in the community of Lavenham and most recently he has been involved in working to provide affordable homes for local people. This has enabled younger people to stay in the village and helped older people to down-scale. He is hard working, enthusiastic and truly 'community minded' - if only every village had a Carroll, the world would be a happier place."
